1956 Seagrave 900

In the summer of 1956 the City of Needles CA took delivery of their first fire engine a Seagrave Engine Model 900-B 1000. The City paid $ 19,651.00 for the truck and it became known as Engine Co. Number Five which served the community for 32 years.

In 1988 the engine was sold and relocated to Mohave Valley AZ where it was parked outside on a ranch for the next 13 years. In 2001 the Mohave Valley CERT Team started the job to restore the engine and its taken 7 years to complete.

The Team plans on using the engine to promote disaster preparedness across the region. The project costs are estimated around $ 10,000.00 with 1,000's of volunteer man hours. The engine was in very poor condition and had to be rewired from top to bottom. Just for fun the Engine has a finish date of 7-13-1956 which was a Friday. The Engine worked out of Station 31 and it was parked outside for 13 years.
